Job title: DevOps Engineer, Sr.
Role Summary:
Leads design, implementation, and scaling of secure, resilient, and highly‑available infrastructure for enterprise IT tools (Okta, GSuite, Slack, Jamf, Palo Alto Firewalls). Drives automation through Infrastructure as Code, builds CI/CD pipelines, and develops observability solutions to improve reliability, cost efficiency, and compliance across cloud and on‑prem environments. Mentors junior engineers and partners with engineering, IT, and InfoSec teams to enforce security policies and continuous improvement.
Expactations:
- 5+ years of DevOps or infrastructure engineering experience.
- Deep expertise in AWS or similar cloud platforms.
- Proven track record of architecting complex, high‑scale systems and leading cross‑team initiatives during periods of rapid growth.
- Hands‑on experience with IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible) and scripting (Python, Bash).
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD, logging, tracing, and metrics.
- Familiarity with security best practices, compliance frameworks, and role‑based access control.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize under pressure, and mentor others.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable, secure infrastructure for core IT tools.
- Lead IaC initiatives to automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated, compliant releases.
- Develop observability stack (logging, tracing, metrics) for troubleshooting and performance monitoring.
- Collaborate with InfoSec to enforce security policies, RBAC, and compliance monitoring.
- Identify and automate process improvements; optimize workflows.
- Mentor junior DevOps staff on best practices and infrastructure management.
- Plan and participate in incident response and rapid issue resolution.
- Coordinate integration and deployment of IT solutions across teams.
Required Skills:
- Cloud infrastructure (AWS) – advanced.
- IaC tools: Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible.
- Scripting: Python, Bash.
- CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance.
- Logging, tracing, metrics collection (e.g., ELK, Prometheus).
- Security and compliance knowledge (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Preferred certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Okta Certified Administrator, CISSP or equivalent security credentials.
