Job Description

Job title: Senior Software Engineering Manager Role Summary: Lead distributed engineering teams to design, develop, and evolve enterprise‑grade digital commerce platforms. Drive the delivery of reliable, scalable services that power high‑volume customer transactions and internal operations. Expectations: - Provide strategic technical leadership and mentorship across multiple sites. - Champion best practices in cloud architecture, microservices, and API design. - Collaborate cross‑functionally with product, architecture, and operations to align technical solutions with business goals. Key Responsibilities: - Manage and mentor a multi‑location engineering team (onshore & offshore). - Oversee the end‑to‑end delivery of Java‑based enterprise applications and Spring Boot microservices. - Coordinate with front‑end teams using Angular or similar frameworks. - Design and maintain API‑driven architectures for internal and third‑party integrations. - Ensure deployments on AWS and hybrid environments with robust CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code quality standards. - Drive performance optimization, monitoring, and incident response to maintain system reliability. - Balance feature delivery with platform modernization and technical debt reduction. - Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement. Required Skills: - 10+ years of software engineering experience, 4+ years in engineering management. - Proven leadership of distributed, cross‑functional teams. - Deep expertise in enterprise Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and RESTful API design. - Experience with Angular or comparable front‑end frameworks. - Proficiency in AWS services and hybrid cloud/on‑prem environments. - Strong CI/CD and DevOps knowledge. - Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. - Excellent communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (preferred). - Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified ScrumMaster, or equivalent) are a plus.
