Senior Software Engineering Manager – Digital Commerce Platforms

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced technology leader to guide the development and evolution of large-scale digital commerce platforms. This role will oversee engineering teams responsible for building highly reliable services that power customer transactions and internal operational systems.

The ideal candidate combines strong leadership skills with deep technical expertise in enterprise software development. You will work closely with product leaders, architects, and operations teams to deliver scalable platforms that support high-volume digital experiences.

This position offers the opportunity to shape modern cloud-based systems while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement across distributed engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a distributed team of engineers across multiple locations, supporting both onshore and offshore development teams.
Oversee the design and delivery of enterprise applications built using Java-based technologies.
Guide teams developing microservices-based solutions using frameworks such as Spring Boot.
Collaborate with frontend teams building modern web interfaces using Angular or similar frameworks.
Ensure backend services integrate seamlessly with user-facing applications and external systems.
Support development and deployment of applications running on AWS cloud infrastructure and hybrid environments.
Promote engineering excellence through CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and strong code quality practices.
Design and manage API-driven architectures that enable internal and third-party integrations.
Work closely with product and business stakeholders to translate operational needs into scalable technical solutions.
Drive system reliability through performance optimization, monitoring, and incident management.
Balance feature delivery with platform modernization and technical debt reduction initiatives.
Foster a collaborative engineering culture focused on ownership, accountability, and continuous learning.

Required Skills & Experience

10+ years of experience in software engineering.
4+ years managing or leading engineering teams.
Strong experience leading distributed teams across multiple locations.
Deep expertise in enterprise Java application development.
Hands-on experience designing microservices using Spring Boot.
Experience building or supporting enterprise applications with Angular or similar frontend frameworks.
Experience working with AWS cloud services and hybrid cloud/on-prem environments.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Strong experience building and managing RESTful APIs and service integrations.
Experience supporting high-volume transactional or e-commerce platforms.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders.
