Job Title: Security Engineer
Role Summary:
Provide hands‑on security engineering support for a client, focusing on identity and access management, vulnerability management, security tool maintenance, and incident response. Work primarily remotely with 1‑3 days onsite, with potential for conversion to permanent employment.
Expectations:
- Contract role with 1‑3 onsite days, remote flexibility.
- Opportunity for transition to permanent position.
- Collaborate across IT, development, and security teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Identity and Access Management (IAM) initiatives, especially Azure SSO and Okta.
- Lead vulnerability management: identify, track, prioritize risks, and coordinate remediation.
- Maintain and monitor security tools: IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, SIEM.
- Participate in incident response: investigation, containment, reporting.
- Assist in developing and enforcing security policies and procedures.
- Conduct routine audits to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
- Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
- Maintain detailed documentation of incidents, configurations, and changes.
- Provide technical security guidance to IT staff.
- Apply best practices across network, endpoint, cloud, and application security.
Required Skills:
- 2–5 years of cybersecurity or related experience.
- Proficiency with IAM solutions (Azure SSO, Okta).
- Strong knowledge of vulnerability management processes.
- Experience with IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and SIEM platforms.
- Ability to investigate and respond to security incidents.
- Familiarity with security frameworks, tools, and technologies.
- Solid understanding of networking, operating systems, and cloud security fundamentals.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Team‑oriented mindset, clear technical communication.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred certifications: Security+, CEH, CySA+, or equivalent (not mandatory).
