**Job Title:** Storage & Data Protection Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Design, implement, and manage enterprise storage and data protection solutions, including SAN, NAS, cloud storage, cyber vaults, and air‑gapped backup workflows. Ensure data integrity, availability, and compliance while supporting business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives.
**Expactations:**
- 14+ years of professional experience in storage engineering or related infrastructure roles.
- 5+ years in backup engineering, storage administration, or disaster‑recovery architecture.
- Proven ability to evaluate, select, and deploy multi‑vendor storage and protection technologies.
- Strong problem‑solving, documentation, and process‑design skills.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design and deploy SAN, NAS, RAID arrays, and cloud storage platforms.
- Administer and maintain cyber vault environments (e.g., Dell Cyber Recovery, IBM Safeguarded Copy).
- Implement and manage air‑gapped vault workflows for ransomware protection.
- Develop, test, and maintain business continuity and disaster‑recovery plans.
- Configure and oversee backup solutions (NetBackup, Commvault, Rubrik, Cohesity) and related monitoring tools.
- Automate routine tasks via scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
- Collaborate with virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V) and cloud teams (AWS, Azure) to ensure seamless storage integration.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and regulations (HIPAA, GDPR, WORM).
**Required Skills:**
- Deep knowledge of SAN, NAS, RAID, storage arrays, and performance tuning.
- Experience with cyber vault technologies and immutable/air‑gap storage concepts.
- Proficiency in backup and replication strategies, snapshot management, and DR testing.
- Hands‑on experience with major backup platforms (NetBackup, Commvault, Rubrik, Cohesity).
- Scripting/automation: PowerShell, Python, Bash (preferred).
- Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V) and cloud storage services (AWS, Azure).
- Understanding of ransomware mitigation, encryption, and regulatory compliance.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., Cisco CCNP Data Center, VMware VCP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or vendor‑specific storage certifications).
