**Job Title**
DevOps Engineer / SRE Engineer
**Role Summary**
Cloud DevOps and Site Reliability Engineer responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining production‑grade GCP infrastructure. Leads automation, CI/CD pipeline development, network architecture, security hardening, and performance tuning for large‑scale, multi‑region environments.
**Expectations**
* Minimum 10 years in DevOps/SRE or equivalent.
* Proven experience managing Kubernetes (GKE), Compute Engine, VPC, Cloud IAM, Cloud Storage, and Cloud SQL.
* Deep knowledge of Linux distributions (RHEL/Ubuntu/CentOS) with kernel and storage tuning.
* Strong Terraform, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions skills.
* Strong networking and security expertise, including IAM, least‑privilege principles, and Workload Identity Federation.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Design and provision GCP resources (Compute Engine, GKE, VPC, Cloud IAM, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL).
2. Build and maintain Terraform modules; manage remote backends, dependencies, and enforce DRY principles.
3. Develop CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins (Declarative/Scripted) and GitHub Actions; manage artifacts (Docker, Helm charts).
4. Implement deployment strategies (canary, blue/green), automate rollouts, rollbacks, and monitoring.
5. Configure and maintain VPC peering, shared VPCs, firewall rules, load balancers, DNS, and VPN tunnels.
6. Manage Linux servers – kernel tuning, LVM, system performance; troubleshoot CPU, memory, I/O bottlenecks; analyze logs and boot issues.
7. Apply least‑privilege IAM policies, manage service accounts, enable Workload Identity Federation, and enforce security best practices.
8. Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and compliance.
**Required Skills**
* GCP services: Compute Engine, GKE, VPC, Cloud IAM, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL.
* Terraform: module creation, state management, dependency handling.
* CI/CD: Jenkins (Declarative/Scripted) & GitHub Actions YAML.
* Linux: RHEL/Ubuntu/CentOS, kernel tuning, LVM, performance tuning.
* Networking: VPC, firewall, load balancing, DNS, VPN, peering.
* Security: IAM, least privilege, Workload Identity Federation.
* Docker, Helm, canary/blue‑green deployment.
* Monitoring & logging on GCP (Stackdriver) preferred.
**Required Education & Certifications**
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
* Preferred certifications: GCP Professional Cloud Architect / Developer / Cloud DevOps Engineer, Jenkins Certification, LPIC or equivalent Linux certification.
