Data Engineer
**Role Summary**
Design, develop and maintain data solutions for a robotic medical platform. Enable AI‑driven image‑processing algorithms by managing, enriching, and annotating large medical imaging datasets, collaborating closely with data scientists and software engineers. Ensure data quality, security, and regulatory compliance while integrating new data sources and providing technical expertise on AI‑related techniques.
**Expections** (Key Expectations)
- Minimum 3 years of professional data management experience.
- Bachelor, Master or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics or a related field.
- Proven proficiency in Python, data pipeline automation and non‑relational databases (e.g., MongoDB).
- Strong knowledge of machine‑learning and deep‑learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Caffe, OpenCV, etc.).
- Excellent communication, documentation and teamwork skills.
- Native or fluent English (written and spoken).
**Key Responsibilities**
- Enrich, validate and maintain a versatile medical imaging database for AI development.
- Build and automate end‑to‑end data pipelines from collection to usable information.
- Create training and test datasets in collaboration with data scientists for AI algorithm development.
- Test algorithm reproducibility and performance, providing independent validation.
- Identify, evaluate and manage external data suppliers and annotators.
- Lead data annotation activities and coordinate with external annotation providers.
- Disseminate clinical and technical knowledge within the team and during partner engagements.
- Interface with other product teams to expose relevant data to AI initiatives.
- Monitor public dataset releases and participate in data challenges.
- Maintain data confidentiality and compliance with regulatory and security standards.
- Document dataset schemas, tooling, and procedures.
- Keep abreast of advances in AI, data management and related technologies.
- Advise on AI techniques based on data characteristics and collaborate with software engineers and testers to translate research into clinical solutions.
**Required Skills**
- Data engineering (ETL, pipelines, automation).
- Python programming and data‑processing libraries.
- Non‑relational database design (MongoDB).
- Version control (Git, Git‑LFS) for code and data.
- Data querying, management and statistical analysis of medical imaging.
- Machine‑learning fundamentals (k‑NN, Naïve Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, neural networks).
- Deep‑learning frameworks (TensorFlow, Caffe, CNTK, Torch, Theano, OpenCV).
- Numerical methods, optimisation and data analysis techniques.
- Strong written and oral communication.
- Team collaboration and independent contribution.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Degree: Bachelor's, Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics, or closely related discipline.
