Job Description
**Job title:** Director of Financial Planning and Analysis **Role Summary:** Lead the organization’s financial strategy, operations, risk management, compliance, and information technology oversight. Deliver accurate reporting, budgeting, and data‑driven insights to executive leadership and stakeholders, while driving process improvement and governance. **Expactations:** - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field (Master’s/MBA preferred). - CPA or CMA certification strongly desired. - 5+ years of progressive finance leadership, with at least 2 years in a director‑level role. - Demonstrated success in budgeting, financial reporting, audit coordination, process improvement, and risk/compliance oversight. **Key Responsibilities:** - Streamline accounting workflows, internal controls, and ERP systems. - Maintain accurate ledgers, perform reconciliations, and oversee cash flow, treasury, payroll, A/P, and A/R. - Lead annual budget development, mid‑year forecasts, and provide variance analysis. - Identify, quantify, and monitor financial and operational risks; recommend mitigation and insurance strategies. - Ensure compliance with GAAP, governmental regulations, grant requirements, and internal policies. - Coordinate external audits and produce regulatory filings. - Craft monthly/quarterly dashboards, board‑ready reports, and refine KPIs for finance and administration. - Oversee IT strategy, contracts, cybersecurity, and records retention. - Serve as primary liaison for internal/external finance inquiries and stakeholder presentations. - Support succession planning, talent assessment, recruitment, and HR initiatives related to finance functions. - Coach, supervise, and develop finance, IT, and administrative teams. **Required Skills:** - Advanced knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and nonprofit/government finance regulations. - Proficiency with ERP/accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI). - Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills; ability to translate complex data for non‑finance audiences. - Proven leadership of cross‑functional teams, prioritization, and stakeholder relationship building. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, or equivalent. - Master’s degree or MBA preferred. - CPA or CMA certification strongly desired.
