Job title: Mechanical Engineer Role Summary: Apply mechanical engineering expertise to support capital and sustaining projects in mining operations, ensuring alignment between design, construction, and operational teams for timely, cost‑effective delivery. Expectations: • Deliver high‑quality mechanical solutions that meet project schedules and budgets. • Demonstrate solid understanding of field execution and constructability. • Provide engineering support on the project site, including brownfield tie‑ins and infrastructure upgrades. • Apply mining‑industry knowledge to bridge gaps between design and construction phases. Key Responsibilities: - Review and validate contractor deliverables and field execution plans. - Participate in installation, commissioning, and handover activities. - Interface with engineering, construction, and operations teams to resolve technical issues. - Support construction‑phase engineering tasks, including design reviews and constructability studies. - Assist with brownfield tie‑ins, underground and surface infrastructure upgrades. Required Skills: - Mechanical engineering fundamentals (structural analysis, thermodynamics, hydraulic systems). - Experience in mining, heavy industrial, or energy projects. - Familiarity with construction‑phase engineering and field execution. - Strong communication and stakeholder engagement. - Ability to work onsite and support site‑based activities. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience. - Professional Engineering registration (PE/Eng) preferred. - Relevant certifications in project management or construction engineering are advantageous.
