Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure Engineer – Azure
Role Summary: Senior engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Microsoft Azure infrastructure for a law firm’s hybrid environment. Ensures scalability, security, availability, and compliance while supporting Azure Virtual Desktop, Intune, and data governance solutions.
Expectations:
- Deliver secure, high‑performance Azure solutions that meet legal‑industry data protection and compliance requirements.
- Proactively manage multiple projects, prioritizing tasks and communicating status transparently.
- Maintain rigorous adherence to ITIL processes, Cyber Essentials, and other regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design, deploy, and continuously manage Azure cloud architecture, including virtual networks, load balancers, and security controls.
2. Administer Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) for seamless, compliant user experience.
3. Implement application control policies and Microsoft Purview data governance for secure application usage and data classification.
4. Configure Intune and endpoint security – device compliance, app deployment, and mobile device management.
5. Conduct vulnerability patch management, penetration‑testing remediation, and phishing‑simulation responses.
6. Perform regular backup/restore testing to validate disaster‑recovery plans.
7. Respond to incidents and ServiceDesk requests, applying ITIL best practices for problem and change management.
Required Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, architecture, and automation (Terraform).
- Deep expertise in Azure Active Directory, Microsoft 365 SaaS, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online.
- Strong cloud security fundamentals: IAM, compliance frameworks, vulnerability assessment, risk mitigation.
- Experience with legal‑industry tools: iManage, 3E, Intapp, Mimecast, Tessian, Litera suite.
- Networking acumen (VPN, firewalls, load balancers) in cloud settings.
- Proficient in ITIL‑aligned processes (problem, change, availability management).
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent; Azure Security Engineer Associate preferred.
- ITIL Foundation or higher is required.
