Job Title: Consultant Developer Back‑Office – CIB
Role Summary
Provide end‑to‑end development and maintenance of critical back‑office financial systems, automating transaction processing for derivatives, equities, bonds and structured financing. Ensure operational reliability, performance, and regulatory compliance across settlement, confirmation, reconciliation, and risk workflows.
Expectations
- Deliver high‑quality, scalable code within stringent timelines.
- Engage with front, middle and risk teams to capture business needs and translate them into functional solutions.
- Demonstrate rigorous analytical thinking, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain applications and scripts for financial flow processing.
- Automate and optimize back‑office processes for derivatives, equities, bonds, and structured products.
- Collaborate with front‑office, middle‑office and risk teams to understand and implement business requirements.
- Refactor existing systems, improve performance, and enhance monitoring capabilities.
- Produce comprehensive technical documentation and internal control procedures.
- Enforce compliance with security standards and financial regulations.
Required Skills
Hard Skills:
- Proficiency in backend languages: Java, C#, Python, SQL, or C++.
- Experience with relational databases and financial flow management systems.
- Working knowledge of APIs and messaging systems (FIX, MQ, Kafka).
- Understanding of financial instruments: equities, bonds, derivatives, structured products.
- Familiarity with back‑office processes: settlement, confirmation, reconciliation, risk.
- Application of best development practices: unit testing, CI/CD, documentation.
- Excellent command of English.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and detail‑oriented mindset.
- Effective communicator with good teamwork ethic.
- Capacity to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Curiosity for finance and rapid assimilation of business context.
Required Education & Certifications
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience on banking projects, ideally in CIB back‑office environments.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (EMIR, SFTR, MiFID II) is a plus.
