Job Description
**Job Title:** Internal Audit Manager (12‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract) **Role Summary:** Lead the internal assurance programme, conducting audits across the organization and sites, enhancing audit quality, and providing expert guidance on UK audit reforms. Partner with cross‑functional teams to embed robust controls, support policy implementation, and deliver training, while mentoring junior staff and influencing senior leadership decisions. **Expectations:** - Deliver high‑quality internal audits and finance control testing on schedule. - Produce clear, actionable reports for senior executives and the Audit & Risk Committee. - Drive continuous improvement of assurance processes and compliance frameworks. - Influence executive decisions and support risk management initiatives. - Maintain visibility and collaboration with H&S, Fire, Data Protection, InfoSec, L&D, and Communications teams. **Key Responsibilities:** - Execute the annual internal assurance programme, leading audits across all business units. - Enhance audit quality systems and assurance processes. - Conduct annual finance controls testing. - Serve as subject‑matter expert on UK audit reforms and assess business impact. - Prepare and present reports for senior leadership and audit committees. - Collaborate with H&S, Fire, Data Protection, and InfoSec to achieve ISO and related standards. - Support implementation of a policy framework aligned with the three‑lines‑of‑defence model. - Develop and deliver company‑wide training and awareness programmes with L&D and Communications. - Mentor and support junior audit team members. - Coordinate outsourced assurance, operational audits, and improvement initiatives with the Head of Risk. - Contribute to investigations, policy compliance, and senior‑level reporting. **Required Skills:** - Strong audit planning, execution, and reporting capabilities. - In‑depth knowledge of UK audit reforms and regulatory requirements. - Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, including influencing senior executives. - Ability to work independently and as a self‑starter. - Proficiency in risk assessment, control testing, and compliance frameworks. - Experience mentoring junior staff and leading audit teams. **Required Education & Certifications:** - ACA, ACCA, or CIA qualification (qualified accountant or Chartered Internal Auditor). - Right to work in the UK. - Availability to commence with up to one month’s notice and commute 2‑3 days per week to Central Bristol.
