Job Description
Job title: Internship – Viticultural Studies Officer Role Summary: Assist vineyard science teams through a 6‑month internship focused on climate‑resilience research across the estate’s 30 ha of Rhône vineyards. Conduct field studies, data analysis, and develop viticultural protocols to support sustainable production and quality improvement. Expectations: - Complete all assigned studies within the internship period. - Produce clear, actionable findings for vineyard and winemaking teams. - Collaborate across vineyard, cellar, and research groups, presenting results in written reports and presentations. - Demonstrate initiative, analytical rigor, and independent problem‑solving. Key Responsibilities: 1. Design and execute studies on leaf area dynamics, early leaf‑shedding, and “bridge” effects on Syrah. 2. Evaluate rootstock re‑planting strategies (port‑greffe vs. gauge conversion). 3. Develop techniques to maintain optimal maturity balance across parcels. 4. Plan and monitor cover‑crop and green‑fertilizer regimes. 5. Collect, analyze laboratory data (petiole, chemical, micro‑climatic) and integrate findings into decision‑making. 6. Maintain study logs, prepare interim and final technical reports. 7. Support small‐scale fermentation trials when required. Required Skills: - Strong analytical and scientific problem‑solving abilities. - Proficiency in data handling, statistical analysis, and lab procedures related to viticulture. - Excellent written and verbal communication in French and English. - Self‑directed, detail‑oriented, and capable of working both independently and in a team. - Familiarity with viticultural terminology and field equipment. Required Education & Certifications: - Current enrolment in an Engineering, Agronomy, or Master’s program in Viticulture & Enology (or equivalent). - Coursework in plant physiology, orchard management, or related disciplines preferred. - Valid driver’s license; own vehicle desirable.
