**Job Title** Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit (Job Share) **Role Summary** Provide advanced critical‑care nursing for cardiac, medical and surgical patients in a 24/7 ICU setting. Manage mechanical ventilation, cardiac support, IV/hemodynamic therapy, and maintain continuous patient monitoring while coordinating with the multidisciplinary team. **Expectations** - Work 12‑hour day, night, and weekend shifts (Monday‑Sunday). - Maintain all relevant nursing certifications and complete a Critical Care Certificate within one year. - Comply with College of Nurses of Ontario standards and ONA collective agreement. - Demonstrate professional, respectful conduct at all times. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Deliver comprehensive bedside nursing care to ICU patients, including assessment, monitoring, and intervention. 2. Operate and troubleshoot mechanical ventilators, monitors, and defibrillators. 3. Interpret cardiac rhythms and administer timely medical therapies, including IV hemodynamic agents. 4. Perform concurrent IV therapy, medication administration, and phlebotomy as indicated. 5. Document all patient interactions, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record. 6. Participate in daily rounds, hand‑off communications, and interdisciplinary team meetings. 7. Uphold infection control and safety protocols, and support the physical and emotional needs of patients and families. 8. Manage competing priorities efficiently in a fast‑paced environment. **Required Skills** - Advanced knowledge of critical‑care nursing, mechanical ventilation, and cardiac rhythm interpretation. - Competence in IV/hemodynamic medication administration. - Strong organizational, prioritization, critical‑thinking, time‑management, and problem‑solving abilities. - Effective communication and teamwork skills. - Physical ability to perform patient handling tasks per job demands. **Required Education & Certifications** - Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing. - Current CPR and ACLS certifications. - Current IV Therapy & Medications certification (hemodynamic drugs). - Current Certificate of Competence. - Coroner Care 1 certification plus post‑diploma courses in Cardiology and Physical Assessment. - Critical Care Certificate (or willingness to obtain within 12 months). **Preferred Qualifications** - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc.N.). - Coronary Care 2 certification. - Epic EMR proficiency or willingness to achieve certification.
