Department/Unit/Program Description

The Ambulatory Care Centre (ACC) provides assessment/treatment and teaching for patients who do not require inpatient admission and general anesthetic. All clinics require physician referral. Services and procedures provided by the ACC include: minor surgery procedures, transfusion of blood products, fracture clinic and the surgical pre-operative assessment clinic.

Position Summary

The Ambulatory Care Centre (ACC) is searching for a Temporary Part-Time Registered Nurse to join their healthcare team.

Effective: April 01, 2026

Ending on or before: August 31, 2026

Essential Qualifications

Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing
Operating Room Certificate OR obtain within one (1) year of working in the ACC
Demonstrated health teaching skills, for example: wound care, pre and post op teaching, ostomy care
Current CPR certification, on hire
Demonstrated ability to deal effectively and co-operatively with patients, family members and all levels of staff
Demonstrated excellent communication, organizational and time management skills
Recent, within the last two (2) years, clinical experience in OR/endoscopy/out-patient procedures/wound care/pre and post op care/adult teaching
Demonstrated Infection Control knowledge as it relates to endoscopy procedures and equipment
Demonstrated ability to maintain a good attendance record
Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis

Preferred Qualifications

B.Sc.N
Epic trained or ability to train and pass testing

Hours of Work

Currently eight hour day shifts, Monday to Friday. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the ONA Collective Agreement.
