About the Company

Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) educated approximately 6,100 Kindergarten to Grade 12 students in 34 schools, including nine Hutterite colony schools, two outreach schools, an online school, and educational programming at a group home facility. The system provides schooling for students from Horse Lake First Nation and Kelly Lake Indigenous Community. Our Alternative Education program provides flexible options to students in Grades 7 to 12. In the smaller and more rural high schools, some reliance is placed on distance education programs to augment the basic in-school offerings. Specialty programs exist to meet local needs. PWPSD employs the full-time equivalent of 378 teachers and 600 non-teaching staff, in addition to a number of part-time and casual personnel. The Transportation department manages 100 bus routes.
