**Job Title:** Interior Automotive Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Act as the commodity owner for interior components within the Interior Engineering Team, ensuring timely, cost‑effective, and high‑quality delivery of physical engineering, sourcing, and component integration for vehicle programmes. Provide the primary technical liaison for programme and cross‑functional teams, driving commodity plans, KPI tracking, and escalations.
**Expectations:**
- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of interior commodities, meeting defined cost, quality, and schedule targets.
- Single point of contact for the programme, ensuring clear communication, status reporting, and risk mitigation.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier and stakeholder relationships to support project objectives.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Own engineering targets for quality, cost, and time for assigned commodity or module.
- Build, update, and maintain commodity plans, EBERs, and other JLR documentation.
- Conduct weekly status reporting, KPI management, and monitoring of project milestones.
- Coordinate trade‑off reviews and design optimisation with vehicle engineering and platform leads.
- Source and manage suppliers, negotiating cost, tooling, and delivery schedules.
- Develop and execute test plans, confirm parts availability across all life‑cycle stages.
- Ensure cross‑functional requirements (e.g., creative, colour, materials) are integrated into module development.
- Escalate issues to programme and senior management as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by line manager.
**Required Skills:**
- Proven experience delivering physical interior commodities to quality, cost, and time targets.
- Strong project management skills with ability to drive schedules, budgets, and risk.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for analysis and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management.
- Familiarity with JLR or equivalent automotive methodologies and documentation.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
