Job title: Senior Commercial and Contract Specialist
Role Summary:
Lead commercial and contract management for large‑scale energy and infrastructure projects, delivering strategic vendor strategies, KPI development, and contract negotiations while ensuring compliance with UK law and regulatory frameworks.
Expectations:
- Develop and optimise vendor strategies that align with business objectives.
- Shape KPIs, SLAs, pricing models, and financial frameworks for contracts.
- Advise on legal indemnities, DPIAs, security, and financial commitments.
- Drive negotiation and relationship management with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Facilitate continuous learning and mentoring within the commercial team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, recommend, and manage complex contracts across multiple projects.
- Craft and monitor KPIs, service‑level agreements, and pricing structures.
- Provide legal and financial guidance on indemnities, DPIAs, security, and payment terms.
- Lead negotiation efforts, secure favorable terms, and resolve disputes.
- Analyse commercial models, challenge assumptions, and align finance with strategy.
- Resolve complex financial queries and support budgeting and planning activities.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors and cross‑functional teams.
- Promote a culture of digital transformation, Agile, and DevOps practices in contract processes.
- Coach and mentor junior commercial team members; deliver performance feedback.
Required Skills:
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in commercial and contract management for large projects.
- Deep knowledge of UK contract law, regulatory frameworks, and industry standards.
- Proficient negotiation, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
- Strong analytical ability in commercial modelling and financial assessment.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship‑building capabilities.
- Ability to operate under pressure and meet deadlines in fast‑paced environments.
- Experience in the energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with digital transformation, DevOps, and Agile methodologies.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification in contract management, commercial law, or procurement (e.g., CPS, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) is preferred.
