Senior Vice President, Global Security
**Role Summary**
Lead the global physical and operational security strategy for a multinational media organization, safeguarding staff, journalists, operations, and property across 5,900 employees, 8 international offices, and 33 statutory bureaus. Serve as the primary security adviser to senior leadership, integrating physical security, logistics, risk assessment, and incident response with cybersecurity initiatives.

- Partner with internal functional units and external agencies to anticipate, detect, and mitigate threats in both physical and digital realms.
- Build and maintain a resilient security culture through awareness, training, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to strategic decision‑making, budgeting, and resource allocation while ensuring global compliance and stakeholder confidence.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. **Strategic Leadership** – Design, implement, and continuously refine a global physical security strategy; set metrics, benchmark performance, and report to Executive Leadership.
2. **Holistic Risk Management** – Lead risk assessment, threat intelligence gathering, and proactive risk mitigation plans; collaborate with Cybersecurity, Facilities, and external partners.
3. **Journalist Protection** – Oversee protective operations for journalists worldwide, addressing conflict‑zone threats and digital harassment; coordinate with cybersecurity for end‑to‑end protection.
4. **Operational Oversight & Incident Response** – Direct physical security operations (facilities, individual protection, event, travel, technologies); develop integrated incident response and crisis‑management protocols.
5. **Investigations** – Lead investigations of security incidents; produce findings, senior‑leadership recommendations, and follow‑up actions.
6. **Team & Talent Management** – Manage a distributed physical‑security team; develop talent, set performance goals, and foster a high‑performance culture.
7. **Financial Management** – Administer budgets, ensure cost effectiveness, and align security investments with organizational priorities.
8. **Stakeholder Engagement** – Build trust with law‑enforcement, government agencies, vendors, and internal stakeholders; deliver clear, consultative expertise.
9. **Security Awareness & Training** – Co‑design and execute global training programs, integrating physical and cyber‑security awareness.
**Required Skills**
- Executive leadership with experience managing global security operations across multiple geographies.
- Strategic planning, program management, and data‑analytic decision making.
- Comprehensive knowledge of physical‑security domains: safeguards, operations, travel security, event security, emergency response, and investigative procedures.
- Proficiency in threat intelligence, risk assessment, and crisis‑management protocols.
- Ability to coordinate complex cross‑functional initiatives with Cybersecurity, Facilities, Legal, and Business units.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Budgeting and resource‑allocation expertise.
- Commitment to a global, multicultural environment and ability to travel extensively.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in security, homeland security, criminal justice, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience in global physical security within a large, multinational organization.
- Demonstrated experience managing multi‑region security programs, risk assessment, threat intelligence, investigations, and incident response.
- Industry certifications preferred: Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Security Manager (CSM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or equivalent; however, certifications are not mandatory.
