Job Description
**Job title:** Senior QA Analyst **Role Summary:** Lead end‑to‑end quality assurance for desktop, web, mobile, and cloud applications, ensuring functional, performance, security, and usability standards are met. Design and execute manual and automated test plans, mentor junior QA staff, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive continuous improvement and best practices. **Expectations:** - Deliver high‑quality test artifacts and results that satisfy project timelines. - Provide technical guidance to team members and influence quality decisions. - Maintain proactive communication with stakeholders and convey status, risks, and resolutions. - Continuously evolve testing processes, tools, and skill set to adapt to emerging technologies. **Key Responsibilities:** - Develop, maintain and execute test plans covering unit, integration, system, acceptance, performance, security, usability, compatibility, and regression. - Create detailed test cases, scripts, and defect logs; review peer work and test documentation. - Build and sustain test environments (desktop, web, mobile, cloud) and device testing setups. - Automate regression tests and augment test coverage using industry‑standard automation frameworks. - Analyze test metrics, identify quality patterns, and recommend preventive actions before releases. - Mentor and coach junior QAs, provide knowledge transfer, and conduct peer reviews. - Support hardware and POS software issues, performing root‑cause analysis and escalating when necessary. - Participate in application packaging, deployment, and release activities; ensure code and build quality. - Monitor emerging QA tools and technologies, evaluate adoption, and share findings. - Coordinate priorities, assign tasks, and facilitate workflow across functional teams. - Engage in continuous learning through self‑study, community participation, and formal training. **Required Skills:** - Strong experience in manual QA and automated testing (e.g., Selenium, Appium, or equivalent). - Proficiency in test planning, case design, execution, and defect management. - Knowledge of performance, load, and stress testing tools (APM, JMeter, LoadRunner). - Understanding of security testing, usability, and compatibility across browsers and devices. - Familiarity with Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and Waterfall methodologies. - Ability to set up and maintain test environments, including mobile device farms and cloud platforms. - Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills. - Effective communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders. - Leadership qualities: mentoring, influencing, and promoting teamwork. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field. - ISTQB Certified Tester – Advanced Level or equivalent QA certification is highly desirable. - Additional certifications in automation, performance testing, or security testing welcome.
