Job Description
Job title: Assistant Engineer – Internship Role Summary: Summer 2026 internship supporting the Municipal Team to deliver engineering, environmental, and consulting solutions. Interns contribute to project design, analysis, documentation, and field activities while gaining mentorship and exposure to live client work. Expactations: • Maintain current enrollment in a Civil or Environmental Engineering program. • Demonstrate strong academic performance (minimum GPA as required by the program). • Complete assigned technical tasks, documentation, and quality checks within set deadlines. • Actively participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and client deliverables. • Communicate effectively with engineers, scientists, and project managers. Key Responsibilities: • Assist with design, calculations, drafting, and data analysis for active projects. • Support project documentation, reporting, and quality assurance processes. • Participate in field work, site visits, and data collection when applicable. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members on project coordination and problem‑solving. • Contribute to team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and client deliverables. • Perform additional duties as assigned to support project team objectives. Required Skills: • Current enrollment in Civil or Environmental Engineering. • Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Strong analytical and technical problem‑solving skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Required Education & Certifications: • Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate Civil or Environmental Engineering program. • Minimum GPA requirement as specified by the internship program (typically 3.0/4.0). • No additional certifications required, though familiarity with civil engineering or water/wastewater concepts is preferred.
