Job Description
Job Title: Senior Civil/Structural Engineer Role Summary: Lead and deliver high‑impact civil and structural design solutions for Network Rail projects, including station upgrades, footbridges, multi‑storey car parks, and platform works. Own design packages, produce detailed technical drawings, review peers’ work, and ensure deliverables meet client requirements and safety standards. Mentor junior engineers, collaborate across disciplines, and contribute to continuous improvement of design practices. Expectations: Expected to produce polished, client‑approved designs within agreed timelines, demonstrate leadership and technical expertise, and influence project success. Performance measured on design quality, delivery efficiency, and mentorship contributions. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and review civil/structural design packages for Network Rail projects. - Produce high‑quality, practical solutions that meet safety and client specifications. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution. - Mentor and develop junior engineering staff. - Apply relevant industry standards and codes confidently. - Utilize design software (Tekla, Revit) to support accurate delivery. Required Skills: - Strong technical knowledge of civil and structural engineering for rail infrastructure. - Proficient in Tekla and Revit. - Excellent problem‑solving, presentation, and communication skills. - Ability to lead and mentor within a team environment. - Detail‑oriented with a focus on quality and safety compliance. Required Education & Certifications: - Chartered Engineer or Associate Chartered Engineer status (or actively pursuing). - Relevant engineering degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
