Job Description
**Job title:** Senior Operations Manager **Role Summary:** Lead the planning, logistics, and financial oversight of multiple international donor‑funded projects. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements while managing a diverse operations team and coordinating with stakeholders. **Expectations:** - Deliver projects on schedule, within budget and scope. - Provide effective resource allocation and risk management. - Maintain adherence to internal policies and external donor standards. - Lead and motivate an operations team, ensuring collaboration and accountability. **Key Responsibilities:** - Manage all financial, contractual, and logistical elements from inception to close‑out. - Interpret client contracts, legal, commercial and compliance requirements; enforce compliance. - Coordinate finance activities with Project Accountant and Project Director: cost monitoring, invoice processing, and financial reporting. - Organise high‑volume travel logistics in line with project policies. - Simultaneously manage multiple projects with competing deadlines. - Create, maintain, and manage project documentation, including risk registers. - Supervise and lead the assigned operations staff. - Ensure projects adhere to internal policies, procedures and donor regulations. - Allocate resources (internal staff, freelancers) and secure necessary contracting. - Conduct due diligence, contracting, and onboarding of third‑party suppliers, partners and grant recipients; monitor compliance. - Troubleshoot software issues and liaise with technical support as needed. **Required Skills:** - Proven experience managing end‑to‑end operations of complex, donor‑funded projects (FCDO, USAID, EU, UN, etc.). - Team leadership and staff management. - Strong stakeholder coordination and communication. - Supplier and contract management, procurement, and grant approval. - Financial management, budgeting, and familiarity with accounting software. - Risk management and compliance oversight. - Proficiency in project management tools and reporting. - Fluency in English. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Minimum 6 years in a senior operations or project‑management role. - Experience with international donor‑funded projects and associated procurement rules. - UK Security Clearance (SC) preferred but not mandatory.
