Job Description

**Job Title** Senior Contract Surveyor **Role Summary** Lead the commercial delivery of large‑scale residential development projects from pre‑start to final account. Manage cost control, procurement, valuations, and risk across all project phases while providing leadership and mentorship to junior surveyors. **Expectations** - Deliver projects on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards. - Maintain compliance with Building Regulations, contract terms and ISO 9001. - Provide accurate commercial insight and proactive risk management. - Mentor and develop junior surveyors, contributing to performance reviews. **Key Responsibilities** - Lead commercial activities for residential construction projects from inception to final account. - Manage subcontractor procurement, valuations, payments, and claims in accordance with company protocols. - Prepare, review and submit CVCs, cost forecasts, valuations and outturn summaries. - Participate in early‑stage design reviews and value‑engineering discussions. - Coordinate with design, technical, production, and client‑side teams. - Conduct re‑measurement for key trades (RC frames, groundworks, brickwork). - Negotiate final accounts, claims, and change orders. - Represent the company in client and consultant meetings. - Ensure adherence to Building Regulations, Health & Safety, and ISO 9001 standards. - Support team meetings and contribute to a collaborative commercial culture. **Required Skills** - Extensive experience managing commercial aspects of residential developments. - Strong knowledge of subcontract terms, procurement processes, and cost control. - Proficient in re‑measurement of key trades and final account negotiation. - Advanced forecasting, reporting and analytical skills. - Excellent communication, presentation and mentoring abilities. - Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to work under tight deadlines. **Required Education & Certifications** - HND/HNC or degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Economics or a related field. - Chartered (or working towards) RICS or MCIOB membership. ---
