Job Description
**Job Title:** Graduate Developer – Apache Kafka & DevOps **Role Summary:** Entry‑level developer supporting enterprise clients on data streaming and cloud operations. Provides level 2/3 technical support for mission‑critical Kafka and Azure/Kubernetes environments while developing automation and observability tools. **Expectations:** - Work minimum 3 days in office, Monday‑Friday 08:00‑17:00 GMT. - Respond to urgent production incidents calmly and efficiently. - Operate independently, ask clarifying questions, and communicate clearly with stakeholders. - Maintain continuous learning of evolving technology stack (Kafka, Azure, Kubernetes). **Key Responsibilities:** - Administer Apache Kafka and Confluent Platform (topics, Schemas, Connectors). - Build and maintain data pipelines and event‑streaming solutions. - Manage Azure services (AKS, Container Registry, Key Vault, networking). - Implement Infrastructure‑as‑Code with Terraform and GitOps pipelines (Argo CD, Azure DevOps). - Configure and use observability stack (Grafana, Loki, Mimir, Tempo, Alertmanager). - Diagnose incidents, perform root‑cause analysis, and conduct post‑mortems. - Automate operational tasks and develop internal tooling. - Produce clear documentation and share knowledge with team and clients. **Required Skills:** - Recent Computer Science or related graduate with strong programming fundamentals in Java or C. - Solid understanding of distributed systems and data engineering concepts. - Basic experience with Linux/Unix operating systems. - Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP acceptable). - Experience or interest in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). - Proficient in version control (Git) and CI/CD principles. - Effective written and verbal communication. - Analytical problem‑solving and capacity‑planning mindset. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. - No mandatory certifications; cloud or Kafka certificates are a plus but not required.
