Job Specifications

We're looking for a talented graduate developer to join our technical support and engineering team. You'll be trained in Apache Kafka administration, data engineering, and cloud infrastructure while providing direct support to enterprise clients.

This is a unique opportunity to:

• Work hands-on with Apache Kafka, Confluent Cloud, and modern streaming architectures

• Gain deep expertise in Microsoft Azure infrastructure and Kubernetes

• Learn DevOps best practices with real-world applications

• Provide Level 2/3 technical support for mission-critical systems

• Develop operational tools and automation

• Work directly with senior engineers and CTOs from major enterprises

What You'll Learn

Technical Skills:

Apache Kafka & Confluent Platform (topics, Schema Registry, connectors, streaming)

Data engineering and pipeline management

Microsoft Azure (AKS, Container Registry, Key Vault, networking)

Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)

GitOps and CI/CD (Argo CD, Azure DevOps)

Observability stack (Grafana, Loki, Mimir, Tempo, Alertmanager)

Incident management and troubleshooting at scale

Professional Skills:

Client communication and stakeholder management

Root cause analysis and technical problem-solving

Performance tuning and capacity planning

Documentation and knowledge sharing

Working with SLA-driven support models

Qualifications / Skills

Essential:

• Recent Computer Science graduate (or equivalent degree in related field)

• Strong programming fundamentals (Java, or C)

• Basic understanding of CRMs and distributed systems

• Genuine interest in data engineering, streaming, or DevOps

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

• Strong written and verbal communication

• Comfortable working independently and asking questions

Desirable (but we'll teach you!):

• Any exposure to Kafka, event streaming, or message queues

• Experience with Linux/Unix systems

• Basic cloud platform knowledge (Azure, AWS, or GCP)

• Understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Personal projects or GitHub portfolio showing technical curiosity

The Reality Check

This role requires:

• Minimum 3 days in the office in (London)

• Availability during support hours (08:00-17:00 GMT, Monday-Friday)

• Handling urgent production issues with composure

• Continuous learning - the technology stack is deep and constantly evolving

• Comfort with ambiguity - not every problem has a documented solution

• Professional communication with enterprise clients
