Job Title: VP of Engineering
Role Summary:
Senior executive responsible for designing, scaling, and operating the engineering organization for an AI‑powered fintech platform. Owns strategy across backend, infrastructure, AI/ML, and data, and leads high‑performing squads to deliver secure, compliant, and fast products.
Expectations:
* Scale engineering from 0–40 to a larger operating team, establishing organization, processes, and culture.
* Drive technical direction, product execution, and innovation in AI‑driven financial systems.
* Collaborate closely with founders and product leadership to translate roadmap into deliverables.
* Set and maintain security, compliance, and reliability standards while enabling rapid shipping.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Define and execute engineering strategy across backend services, cloud infrastructure, AI/ML, and data pipelines.
2. Build and scale engineering squads, implementing scalable delivery frameworks and best practices.
3. Lead architectural decisions for AI‑driven financial systems, real‑time data processing, and distributed services.
4. Partner with founders and product managers to prioritize features, estimate effort, and track progress.
5. Oversee AWS‑native infrastructure operations, CI/CD, DevOps, and data pipeline management.
6. Champion security, compliance, and reliability across all services and releases.
7. Recruit, mentor, and retain engineering talent, fostering a high‑performance culture.
Required Skills:
* 10+ years of software development experience.
* 3+ years of engineering leadership in high‑growth, scale‑up environments.
* Deep technical expertise in AI/ML, data platforms, or distributed systems.
* Proficiency with Python, TypeScript, React, AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tooling.
* Proven hiring, coaching, and team‑building track record.
* Strong communication, stakeholder management, and product‑centric mindset.
* Ability to thrive in fast‑moving, product‑driven settings.
Required Education & Certifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
