**Job Title**
GCP Governance Manager
**Role Summary**
Lead governance, compliance, and audit readiness for Google Cloud Platform landing zone initiatives, aligning technical delivery with internal policies, the Cloud Controls Framework, and regulatory requirements. Serve as the primary liaison between engineering delivery and group governance, ensuring automated compliance validation, risk tracking, and stakeholder approvals throughout the programme lifecycle.
**Expectations**
- Function as the central governance authority for GCP landing zone projects.
- Deliver on audit‑ready evidence, documentation, and approvals at every milestone.
- Provide regulatory engagement support to obtain necessary authorisations for GCP use.
- Transition governance ownership to Business‑As‑Usual cloud governance after programme completion.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Map client policies, standards, and regulatory mandates to GCP landing zone architecture and artefacts.
- Maintain traceability between the Cloud Controls Framework, policies, and technical implementations; ensure controls are established, evidenced, and auditable.
- Design and implement automated compliance validation, drift detection, and continuous monitoring.
- Collaborate with Controls Assurance and Testing teams on controls attestation, testing, and remediation.
- Represent group governance interests in ARB, GTC, CAF, CSO, and other relevant forums.
- Prepare and present governance evidence for approvals; document submission artefacts.
- Lead regulatory engagement (e.g., PRA, FCA) by compiling documentation and facilitating communication.
- Onboard the GCP platform into the group governance process; identify gaps, recommend remediation, and transition to BAU.
- Manage comprehensive governance documentation, including runbooks, playbooks, and user guides.
- Track and report risk, gap remediation, and control mapping progress.
- Identify opportunities to enhance governance processes, controls, and reporting in line with evolving cloud strategy.
- Contribute to the development and periodic improvement of the Cloud Controls Framework and related artefacts.
**Required Skills**
- Deep understanding of cloud governance frameworks, especially the Cloud Controls Framework.
- Experience with GCP landing zone design, deployment, and operations.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory bodies (e.g., PRA, FCA) and audit requirements.
- Proven ability to develop, document, and maintain controls, runbooks, and evidence artefacts.
- Proficiency in automated compliance monitoring, drift detection, and continuous assurance tools.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; capable of presenting to senior governance bodies.
- Analytical mindset for risk assessment, gap analysis, and remediation tracking.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications: Google Professional Cloud Architect, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, or equivalent cloud governance certifications.
- Additional relevant certifications such as CISA, CISSP, or CRISC are advantageous.
