VP of Engineering
**Role Summary**
Lead engineering strategy, execution, and organizational growth for a B2B SaaS product built on the Salesforce platform. Drive scalable, secure, and high‑performance architectures while collaborating closely with product, sales, and executive teams. Champion AI‑assisted development and maintain ISV compliance.
**Expectations**
- Own the end‑to‑end engineering delivery cycle across multiple workstreams.
- Translate company strategy into technical roadmaps, staffing plans, and architecture guardrails.
- Scale and mentor a high‑performing engineering team (25–200 people) focused on quality, reliability, and developer experience.
- Ensure adherence to Salesforce ISV security, compliance, and packaging requirements.
- Evaluate and adopt AI tools to enhance productivity and product capability.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Serve on executive leadership to set long‑term vision and prioritize engineering initiatives.
2. Manage execution, balancing roadmap commitments with architectural integrity and capacity.
3. Partner with Product and GTM leaders to align technical direction and delivery plans.
4. Define and evolve operating rhythms (planning, sprint, release management) for predictable, high‑quality delivery.
5. Architect platform guardrails for scalability, performance, and maintainability.
6. Assess AI‑related product opportunities, guiding feasibility and risk.
7. Promote responsible AI‑assisted development practices (code generation, testing, documentation).
8. Build, retain, and develop engineering organization: structure, hiring, career paths, leadership coaching.
9. Advocate for engineering excellence: documentation, technical debt management, tooling improvements.
10. Ensure compliance with Salesforce ISV security, privacy, and data regulations.
11. Provide direct engineering support to unblock critical initiatives when required.
**Required Skills**
- Proven leadership of B2B SaaS engineering in mid‑size organizations (25–200 employees).
- Deep expertise in Salesforce Platform, Apex, Lightning Web Components, packaging, and ISV model.
- Hands‑on experience designing modern customer‑facing applications (React, JavaScript, TypeScript, backend services).
- Strong decision‑making, prioritization, and conflict resolution ability.
- Track record in building scalable, secure, high‑performance architecture.
- Familiarity with AI development tools (code generation, automated testing, documentation).
- Experience with engineering operating models, sprint cycles, release management, and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of security, compliance, and data privacy standards relevant to SaaS and ISV offerings.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Salesforce Platform certifications (e.g., Developer I/II, Technical Architect) are highly preferred.
