Job Description
Job title: On‑Site IT Technician Role Summary Provide proactive, onsite support for client IT infrastructure. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, conduct preventive maintenance, and assist system administrators with network and backup systems. Effectively communicate technical information to non‑technical users in French and English. Expectations - Preventive monitoring and timely response to incidents - Administer IT equipment at client locations, including data centers - Collaborate with SysAdmins and ITSM tools to manage ticket escalations - Maintain accurate inventory and documentation of all onsite interventions Key Responsibilities 1. Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, servers, and networking equipment on client sites. 2. Perform routine preventive maintenance to avert system failures. 3. Assist SysAdmins with network infrastructure tasks (firewalls, switches, VPNs, Wi‑Fi, WAN/LAN). 4. Support backup systems and related infrastructure. 5. Respond to onsite help‑desk tickets, escalating unresolved issues via ITSM. 6. Manage and update hardware inventory for client deployments. 7. Deliver clear, non‑technical explanations of technical issues and solutions. 8. Routinely travel between multiple client sites within a single workday. Required Skills - Proficient in Windows Desktop and Windows Server (basic) - Familiarity with Microsoft 365 suite and administrative portals - Strong knowledge of IP networking, WAN/LAN, Wi‑Fi, firewalls, switches, VPNs, and network topologies - Experience with Microsoft Intune and endpoint management - Structured service mindset with ITIL approach - Diagnostic and analytical problem‑solving abilities - Basic Mac OS and Linux knowledge is a plus - Backup system concepts familiar - Fluency in written and spoken French and English - Excellent written and verbal communication, adept at translating technical language for non‑technical audiences - Detail‑oriented, multitasking in a fast‑paced environment - Team collaboration skills - Valid driver’s licence for onsite travel Required Education & Certifications - Minimum of 2 years’ experience in computer, server, network (or cloud), and Microsoft environments - Professional or higher diploma in Information Technology (or related field) ---
