**Job Title**
Logistics Supervisor
**Role Summary**
Oversee end‑to‑end logistics for product and equipment shipments at multiple manufacturing sites. Manage daily operations, carrier relationships, freight claims, cost optimization, compliance, and a team of logistics coordinators to ensure efficient, safe, and cost‑effective transportation.
**Expectations**
- Direct and improve logistics operations for full truckload, less‑than‑truckload, and cross‑border shipments.
- Maintain carrier performance and relationships; onboard and terminate carriers as needed.
- Drive cost reduction, routing efficiency, and compliance with customs, HSE, and transportation regulations.
- Lead and develop logistics coordinators, serving as escalation point and backup leadership.
- Collaborate with supply‑chain, commercial, and other stakeholders to align shipping plans and projects.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Manage daily logistics activities across all manufacturing sites.
2. Monitor shipping metrics, resolve shipment misses, and implement corrective actions.
3. Serve as primary contact for carriers; negotiate performance, rates, and freight claims.
4. Evaluate, onboard, and terminate carriers to meet business objectives.
5. Optimize transportation modes, frequency, routing, and spend (duty, fuel surcharge, tariffs, brokerage).
6. Support international and plant‑related shipping projects.
7. Lead and develop logistics coordinators; provide day‑to‑day support and coverage.
8. Coordinate with supply‑chain, commercial, and stakeholder teams to align shipping plans.
9. Escalate execution priorities and serve as escalation point for issues.
10. Champion continuous improvement, standardization, and best practices.
11. Challenge existing cost structures, processes, and system configurations.
12. Reduce environmental impact of logistics activities.
13. Track and manage KPIs, escalating deviations promptly.
14. Ensure compliance with HSE, labor, insurance, transportation, and regulatory requirements.
15. Conduct compliance audits of carrier network; monitor cross‑border shipment clearance.
16. Review and update policies, SOPs, and documentation as needed.
17. Lead or participate in audits and inspections.
**Required Skills**
- 3+ years logistics experience, including 1+ year direct management.
- Strong leadership, team management, and influence skills.
- Superior planning, organizing, strategic thinking, and communication.
- Proficiency with logistics computer systems and industry software.
- Deep understanding of freight claims, carrier management, and cost optimization.
- Knowledge of customs, import/export regulations, and cross‑border logistics.
- Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on process and cost reduction.
- Excellent customer‑satisfaction focus.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Professional Logistician (CPL), or similar are desirable.
