Job Description
**Job Title**: Business Systems Technical Lead – FCC **Role Summary**: Lead and supervise the Business Systems Team within the Force Command Centre, ensuring 24/7 operational readiness. Deliver technical input, coordinate task execution, and drive system improvements to support policing functions. **Expactations**: - Manage day‑to‑day operations of the Business Systems Team. - Implement and support controlled system changes for seamless 24/7 service delivery. - Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members. - Maintain high standards of project delivery, configuration, integration, and performance monitoring. **Key Responsibilities**: - Lead the Business Systems Team, overseeing daily activities and aligning with strategic plans set by the Business Systems Manager. - Plan, execute, and monitor technical projects, ensuring timely and quality outcomes. - Apply system lifecycle management practices: configuration, integration, testing, deployment, and performance monitoring. - Deliver hands‑on technical support to colleagues and stakeholders. - Review and improve system designs and business processes to enhance service delivery. - Communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical audiences, including reports and briefings. - Coordinate with internal departments and external suppliers to implement system improvements. **Required Skills**: - Proven experience managing and optimising technical systems in a high‑demand operational environment. - Line‑management experience with the ability to motivate, develop, and assess technical staff. - Knowledge of system lifecycle management, configuration, integration, and performance monitoring. - Strong project management skills and experience delivering technical projects to high standards. - Ability to translate technical details into clear communication for non‑technical stakeholders. - Familiarity with SaaS platforms, CRM/contact management systems, and call handling technologies. - Experience in a regulated environment with understanding of data protection, cybersecurity, and compliance standards. - Collaborative working skills across departments and with external suppliers. **Required Education & Certifications**: - Minimum of A‑Level qualification in a directly related subject (IT, Computer Science, Systems Engineering). - Practical, relevant experience (e.g., within a police or law‑enforcement context or commercial IT environment) evidencing delivery of projects and system upgrades. ---
