**Job Title**
Lead DevOps Engineer
**Role Summary**
Senior technical leader responsible for designing, deploying, and managing Azure cloud environments, automating data platform services, and establishing robust CI/CD pipelines. Provides architectural guidance, ensures security, performance, and cost‑efficiency, and mentors junior engineers.
**Expectations**
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Azure CloudOps, DevOps, or DataOps.
- Proven ability to lead cloud‑native projects and mentor technical teams.
- Strong ownership of architecture, automation, security, and reliability.
- Effective collaboration with development, data engineering, and business stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Architect, deploy, and manage Azure compute, networking, storage, and security resources.
- Automate Azure Data Platform services (Azure SQL, Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, Data Lake).
- Design and implement Infrastructure‑as‑Code using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps (and GitHub Actions) for infrastructure and application releases.
- Define and enforce cloud security best practices (RBAC, Managed Identities, Key Vault, Defender for Cloud).
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize environments with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
- Implement high‑availability, disaster‑recovery, and backup strategies for Azure workloads.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver cloud‑native solutions aligned with business needs.
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers.
**Required Skills**
- Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure services (compute, networking, storage, security).
- Hands‑on experience with Azure Data Platform components (SQL Database, Synapse, Data Factory, Data Lake).
- Proficiency in IaC tools: Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates.
- Strong Linux system administration in cloud environments.
- CI/CD pipeline development using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
- Cloud monitoring and observability (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights).
- Security implementation (Azure RBAC, Managed Identities, Key Vault, Defender).
- Leadership, communication, and mentoring abilities.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Preferred certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or similar.
