Job Description

Job title: Senior Product Designer Role Summary: Lead full‑cycle product design for a rapidly growing online education platform, driving strategy, creating high‑fidelity web and mobile experiences, scaling the Figma‑based design system, and partnering closely with engineering to ship consumer‑facing features that support millions of learners. Expectations: - **Week 1**: Complete handover, audit existing designs, set immediate priorities. - **Week 2**: Ship improvements to in‑progress screens and establish workflow with engineering. - **Week 4**: Deliver a major feature from concept to launch, demonstrating measurable impact. Key Responsibilities: - Define and evolve design vision, principles, and processes. - Champion user‑centered design while maintaining startup speed and constraints. - Extend and scale the existing design system using modern component libraries (e.g., Shadcn/ui, Tamagui, Gluestack). - Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high‑fidelity designs for web and mobile. - Ensure pixel‑perfect handoff to developers; manage design tokens and responsive design. - Conduct rapid guerilla usability tests, synthesize insights, and iterate quickly. - Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders through sprint planning, stand‑ups, and strategy sessions. - Serve as the user advocate in all cross‑functional discussions. Required Skills: - 5+ years of product design experience; at least 2 years in fast‑paced startups or scale‑ups. - Expert proficiency in Figma (components, auto‑layout) and modern component libraries. - Proven track record of shipping consumer‑facing digital products with high visual quality. - Strong portfolio illustrating end‑to‑end design workflow from research to production. - Technical fluency with React component architecture, design tokens, responsive design, and accessibility standards. - Experience designing real‑time, streaming, or social interaction experiences (bonus). - Familiarity with analytics tools and data‑driven design decisions. - Startup mindset: thrive in ambiguity, build structure, ship MVPs, wear multiple hats, justify design decisions with data and business rationale.
