**Job Title:** System Engineer – Vulnerability Engineer (Freelance)
**Role Summary:**
Freelance Vulnerability Engineer responsible for securing Microsoft server and cloud environments within a hybrid infrastructure. Conduct vulnerability assessments, prioritize risks, lead remediation, and support ongoing security operations, incident response, and modernization initiatives for a major organization.
**Expectations:**
- Immediate start, 6‑month engagement with potential extension.
- Work in a hybrid environment (on‑prem Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure, M365).
- Deliver measurable improvements in security posture, compliance, and resilience.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct vulnerability scanning, assessment, and remediation across Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure, M365, and related services.
- Analyze vulnerability reports, prioritize risks, and coordinate remediation with internal teams.
- Support security operations, incident response, patch management, and secure configuration.
- Contribute to cloud and infrastructure modernization projects.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards (GDPR, DORA).
**Required Skills:**
- 5+ years of experience in Microsoft server infrastructure and security.
- Extensive background in vulnerability management and remediation.
- Deep knowledge of Windows Server, AD, EntraID, ADFS, DNS/DHCP, and hybrid environments.
- Proficiency with Azure/M365 security tools and scripting (PowerShell, Azure CLI).
- Familiarity with IT Service Management (ServiceNow).
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Fluent in French or Dutch; professional proficiency in English.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Relevant certifications preferred: CISSP, CISA, or Microsoft Azure Security Engineer Associate (preferred).
