Job Description
**Job Title:** Reclamation/Remediation Summer Student **Role Summary:** Support environmental consulting projects focused on reclamation, remediation, and site assessments across Alberta. Perform field and office tasks, including sampling, monitoring, and technical report preparation, while gaining hands‑on experience in environmental investigations. **Expectations:** - Attend university courses in fall term; maintain student status in environmental, natural, or soil sciences. - Travel throughout Alberta as project needs dictate. - Hold a valid Alberta driver’s licence. - Demonstrate strong communication, organization, and attention to detail. **Key Responsibilities:** - Prepare technical documentation (borehole logs, data tables, figures). - Conduct soil and water sampling and subsurface condition monitoring. - Perform site investigations, including drilling and excavation activities. - Support remediation programs and field investigations. - Assist with wetland assessments, weed‑control tasks, and upstream oil & gas reclamation projects as needed. **Required Skills:** - Understanding of Phase 1, 2, 3 Environmental Site Assessments. - Familiarity with Alberta Environment Criteria & Guidelines. - Proficient written and verbal communication. - Excellent organizational abilities and meticulous accuracy. - Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Currently enrolled in a diploma or degree program in Environmental Science, Natural Sciences, Soil Science, or related field (must return to school in fall). - Valid Alberta driver’s licence. - (Optional/Asset) Experience with wetland assessments, upstream oil‑and‑gas remediation, and weed‑control operations.
