Job Description
**Job title:** Energy/Security Technician **Role Summary:** Install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain electronic energy management and security systems, including designing and constructing custom components and performing related electrical installations. Report directly to the Controls Foreman. **Expectations:** - Work full-time (8 hours/day, 257 days/year). - Operate under general supervision while maintaining safety, quality, and performance standards. - Independently manage system assembly, integration, and system power requirements. **Key Responsibilities:** - Install and set up energy management and access control hardware and software. - Adjust, calibrate, and repair electronic and electrical components of energy and security systems. - Design, fabricate, and integrate custom system components as needed. - Complete electrical wiring, cabling, and power distribution for system modules. - Diagnose and resolve faults in HVAC, fire alarm, electric, pneumatic, and related control systems. - Utilize computer applications for system configuration, testing, and documentation. - Operate and maintain small, medium, and heavy equipment required for installation and repair tasks. **Required Skills:** - Proficient knowledge of electrical construction and circuitry. - Thorough understanding of energy management and access control technologies. - Basic familiarity with HVAC, fire alarm, electric, and pneumatic control systems. - Strong computer literacy, including technical software for system configuration and troubleshooting. - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications. - Skilled in using, maintaining, and repairing electromechanical equipment. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Completion of a journeyman/apprentice electrical program or equivalent training and experience. - Minimum 4 years of related experience in energy management and security system installation/maintenance. - Valid driver’s license. - Journeyman electrician certification preferred. ---
