(Triad) provides geotechnical and civil engineering, landscape architecture, environmental services, land surveying, construction materials testing and monitoring, drilling, and construction materials laboratory services, to a wide range of clients. Established in 1975, we pride ourselves in being an employee-owned firm with nearly 200 employees throughout West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Ohio. **Job Title** Director of Engineering and Solutions **Role Summary** Lead and scale a multidisciplinary engineering organization that designs, builds, and delivers engineered solutions, custom assemblies, and technical services. Serve as a strategic, revenue‑generating partner to Sales, Operations, and Service functions, ensuring quality, margin, and on‑time delivery while driving continuous improvement and standardization. **Expectations** - 7‑10+ years of progressive engineering leadership in a B2B industrial or solutions‑based environment. - Proven ability to grow and manage teams of Field Engineers, Application Engineers, and Technical Specialists. - Strong customer‑facing experience partnering with Sales and Operations to drive account growth and solution strategy. **Key Responsibilities** - Build, mentor, and scale a high‑impact technical team. - Identify and develop custom solution, service, and training opportunities. - Oversee capacity planning, resource allocation, and utilization. - Ensure on‑time delivery, quality, and margin performance for engineered solutions. - Implement continuous improvement initiatives across engineering, production, and delivery workflows. - Maintain consistent application of engineering, quality, and safety standards. - Collaborate with Sales leadership on solution strategies, opportunity qualification, and customer presentations. **Required Skills** - Technical leadership and team building. - Deep understanding of engineered systems and custom assemblies. - Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. - Strategic planning and execution in a solutions‑based business model. - Proficiency in continuous improvement, process standardization, and resource management. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related discipline). - Relevant professional engineering certifications are a plus.
