Job Description
**Job Title:** Temporary Bookkeeper – Contract (3–6 months) **Role Summary:** Provide independent, high‑accuracy bookkeeping support for a growing company, managing day‑to‑day ledger maintenance, payroll, tax filings, and financial reporting while ensuring compliance with Canadian tax and payroll regulations. **Expectations:** * Work 10‑20 hrs/week remotely, completing tasks within established deadlines. * Maintain strict confidentiality of financial data. * Communicate clearly with admin and operations teams to resolve discrepancies. * Deliver audit‑ready records and support potential contract extension. **Key Responsibilities:** * Keep general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations accurate and up-to-date. * Process and reconcile payroll, ensuring CRA compliance. * Prepare, file, and maintain GST/PST returns and year‑end documentation. * Review expense reports, organize supporting documentation, and manage invoicing/collections as needed. * Generate regular financial reports for management review. * Identify and address bookkeeping discrepancies, escalating issues when appropriate. **Required Skills:** * Minimum 3 years of experience in bookkeeping; construction, rentals, or service industries a plus. * Strong knowledge of Revenue Canada rules and CRA payroll regulations. * Proficiency with QuickBooks, Wave, or similar accounting software. * Excellent written and verbal English communication. * High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality. * Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. **Required Education & Certifications:** * A recognised bookkeeping or accounting diploma/degree preferred. * CRA payroll or tax certification highly valued.
