Job Description
**Job Title** Furniture Product Designer – Project-Based / Partner Track **Role Summary** Design and refine production‑ready furniture for urban compact living. Translate concept design into manufacturable solutions, produce supplier‑ready outputs, optimise for DfM/DfA, and iterate based on prototype and supplier feedback. Work on milestone-driven projects with potential long‑term partnership. **Expectations** * Deliver complete, production‑ready CAD models and engineering drawings for sampling and tooling. * Balance aesthetic intent with structural integrity, ergonomics, material behaviour, cost, packaging, and logistics. * Communicate clearly with suppliers and cross‑functional teams. * Provide visual assets for go‑to‑market use (exploded views, functional diagrams, clean product visuals). **Key Responsibilities** 1. Translate existing concepts into detailed structural and component designs. 2. Create 2D/3D CAD files and engineering drawings for sampling/tools. 3. Optimize designs for manufacturability, assembly, packaging, and shipping constraints. 4. Iterate with suppliers and prototype feedback to meet cost and usability goals. 5. Produce visual communication assets (exploded views, functional diagrams, product visuals). **Required Skills** * 3–5+ years of furniture or home product design experience with market releases or award‑winning concepts. * Expertise in SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360, or equivalent 3D modelling; AutoCAD or equivalent 2D drafting. * Proficient in rendering/visualization tools (KeyShot, V‑Ray, Blender, 3ds Max, etc.). * Skilled in Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop for layout and visual communication. * Strong understanding of DfM/DfA, packaging, and logistics. * Ability to balance aesthetics, structural logic, ergonomics, cost, and real‑world manufacturing constraints. **Required Education & Certifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. * (Optional) Certifications or credentials in product development, DfMM, or sustainable design are a plus.
