Job Description
**Job Title**: Human Resources Assistant **Role Summary** Support all HR administrative functions, facilitating recruitment, onboarding, employee record management, and compliance documentation while ensuring confidentiality and accuracy. **Expectations** - Operate within the Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA) and Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) frameworks. - Maintain rigorous attention to detail and data integrity across all HR systems. - Demonstrate professional communication and discretion when handling employee information. **Key Responsibilities** - Coordinate end‑to‑end recruitment: post openings, screen resumes, schedule interviews, communicate next steps, and prepare offer packages. - Manage onboarding: assemble orientation materials, collect and file new‑hire documents, track probationary periods, and schedule introductions. - Administer off‑boarding: update records, process exit paperwork, and ensure return of company property. - Maintain employee files and HRIS accuracy: update status changes, contact information, reporting lines, and track training completions, document expiries, and attendance logs. - Supply basic HR reporting and respond to ad‑hoc administrative requests. - Distribute policies and maintain acknowledgement logs; support ESA leave documentation and WSIB file upkeep. - Handle reference and background checks when required. **Required Skills** - Strong organizational abilities with meticulous attention to detail. - Excellent written and verbal communication competencies. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). - Ability to manage confidential information with discretion. **Required Education & Certifications** - Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. - 1–2 years of HR or administrative experience (co‑op/internship experience acceptable). - Knowledge of Ontario ESA and WSIB regulations.
