Job Description
Job title: Plant Engineer Role Summary: Provide on‑site engineering, maintenance, and operational support for a thermal power plant, performing technical analysis, project support, and compliance oversight to ensure reliable plant performance and regulatory adherence. Expectations: * Full‑time presence on plant site; 100 % onsite. * Collaborate effectively with mechanical maintenance, operations, and asset management teams. * Offer engineering expertise to enhance system reliability and extend equipment life. * Maintain rigorous documentation, procedures, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities: * Deliver engineering and maintenance assistance to the mechanical maintenance team. * Initiate and document engineering projects including requirement analysis and technical specification development. * Provide continuous technical guidance and troubleshoot plant equipment issues. * Conduct asset management and life‑extension activities for plant components. * Develop, update, and enforce operating and maintenance procedures. * Advise on equipment operation, plant systems, and best engineering practices. * Ensure compliance with Canadian codes, standards, and TSSA regulations. Required Skills: * Mechanical engineering technical knowledge in power plant operations. * Project initiation, specification development, and documentation skills. * Troubleshooting and problem‑solving in a live plant environment. * Asset management and life extension planning. * Strong written and oral communication, stakeholder collaboration. * Familiarity with Canadian engineering codes, standards, and TSSA regulations. Required Education & Certifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. * Minimum 4 years of engineering experience in power plant operations or industrial manufacturing. * Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license in Ontario preferred (not mandatory). * Prior experience in thermal power plants strongly preferred.
