Work Arrangement: 100% onsite (mandatory)

Position Overview

The Plant Engineer will provide engineering, maintenance, and operational support at the Atikokan Power Plant. This role requires hands-on experience in a power generation environment and a strong working knowledge of applicable Canadian codes, standards, and TSSA regulations. The successful candidate must be available to work onsite full-time and collaborate closely with mechanical maintenance, operations, and asset management teams.

Key Responsibilities

Provide engineering and maintenance support to the Atikokan mechanical maintenance team
Support mechanical engineering projects, including:
Project initiation reports
Development of technical specifications
Ongoing technical guidance and troubleshooting
Perform asset management and life-extension activities for plant equipment
Support plant operations by:
Developing and updating operating and maintenance procedures
Providing engineering advice on the operation of plant equipment and systems
Ensure compliance with applicable Canadian codes, standards, and regulatory requirements, including TSSA regulations

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of four (4) years of engineering experience in:
Power plant operations or
Industrial/manufacturing environments
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license in the Province of Ontario is preferred
Prior experience in thermal power plants is strongly preferred
Demonstrated familiarity with:
Canadian engineering codes and standards
TSSA regulations
Proven ability to work effectively in a fully onsite, operational plant environment

Additional Requirements

Must be willing and able to work 100% onsite at the Atikokan Power Plant
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with maintenance, operations, and engineering stakeholders
