Job Description
Job Title: DevOps Engineering Intern Role Summary: Assist in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and platform monitoring to support a scalable service marketplace. Responsibilities include designing pipelines, scripting deployments, automating configuration, integrating tools, and documenting processes. Expectations: 5‑10 hours per week; able to work in‑person at least once a week in Hudson Yards; self‑starter with strong analytical skills; proficient in at least one programming or scripting language (Python, JavaScript, Bash) or automation platform; eager to learn new DevOps tools and emerging AI solutions. Key Responsibilities: - Design, implement, and refine CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration and deployment. - Build and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code solutions to automate provisioning and configuration. - Deploy and script automation tools, integrations, and scripts that improve deployment workflows. - Implement monitoring solutions, analyze performance data, and propose optimizations for reliability and speed. - Connect APIs and services to create seamless automated workflows across tools and platforms. - Produce clear technical documentation for infrastructure, deployment processes, and system designs. - Participate in code reviews and cross‑functional discussions, explaining technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders. Required Skills: - Programming/scripting in Python, JavaScript, Bash, or similar. - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). - Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI), and IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible). - Ability to write and maintain automated scripts, tools, and integrations. - Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem‑solving under limited resources. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Required Education & Certifications: - Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program. - Resident of New York City, able to work in‑person at least once weekly at a co‑working space in Hudson Yards. - No specific certifications required, but knowledge of CI/CD, cloud, and IaC tools is preferred.
