**Job title:** Country Sales Manager FMCG / CPG
**Role Summary:**
Lead the national retail strategy for the FMCG/CPG portfolio in France, driving category growth across GMS, GSS, and specialist channels. Own end‑to‑end execution, partner management, and sales organisation development to deliver sustainable commercial performance.
**Expectations:**
- Design and execute a high‑impact retail architecture that aligns with consumer insights and business goals.
- Secure and grow key national retailer partnerships, negotiating trade terms and embedding strategic initiatives.
- Develop a high‑performance sales team focused on data‑driven, category‑centric selling.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure seamless integration of retail strategy with supply chain, marketing, finance, and operations.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Retail & Channel Strategy:**
- Build and implement the national retail strategy across all channels.
- Define channel roles, customer prioritisation, route‑to‑market, assortment, pricing, promotional mechanics, and in‑store execution standards.
- Align strategy with supply, demand planning, and availability.
- **Key Account & Commercial Leadership:**
- Lead strategic partnerships with top‑tier national retailers.
- Own national negotiations, trade terms, and commercial frameworks.
- Embed retail strategy into customer agreements to drive category growth.
- **Sales Organisation Leadership:**
- Lead, develop, and inspire a team of Key Account Managers.
- Build retail capability in the team – category thinking, negotiation, data‑led selling.
- Set priorities, performance standards, and accountability; develop talent and succession plans.
- **Cross‑Functional Leadership:**
- Partner with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations to align retail strategy.
- Strengthen the S&OP process with a retail focus.
- Represent retail perspective in senior leadership discussions.
**Required Skills:**
- Proven experience in national retail strategy development and execution in FMCG/CPG.
- Strong national key‑account management background with major retailers.
- Leadership experience managing and developing commercial teams.
- Deep knowledge of retail dynamics, shopper behaviour, and channel economics.
- Advanced negotiation and stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Commercial acumen with P&L, trade investment, and ROI focus.
- Highly analytical, proficient in Excel and data‑interpretation.
- Bilingual fluency in French and English.
- Valid driver’s licence.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field (MBA preferred).
- Industry‑relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional in Sales Service) are an advantage.
