Job Title: Cloud Platform Engineer
Role Summary:
Design, build, and operate enterprise‑scale Red Hat OpenShift clusters on-premises, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. Lead infrastructure automation, lifecycle management, and integration with virtualization platforms while collaborating closely with SRE and Program Management to meet operational SLAs and implementation milestones.
Expectations:
- Deploy and manage on‑prem OpenShift clusters at enterprise scale (multi‑cluster).
- Automate infrastructure with IaC (Terraform, Ansible) and GitOps pipelines.
- Ensure observability, incident response, and compliance with security standards.
- Drive collaboration across SRE, security, networking, storage, and application teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Platform Engineering
- Architect HA, scalable, secure OpenShift environments.
- Implement lifecycle ops (install, upgrade, patch, scale).
- Configure networking, storage, ingress, and security components.
• Infrastructure Build & Automation
- Build compute, storage, networking assets in datacenter.
- Integrate OpenShift with VMware/hypervisors.
- Develop IaC solutions; CI/CD for platform deployments.
• Linux Systems Engineering
- Admin & troubleshoot RHEL for performance, reliability, security.
- Automate configuration & compliance.
• Reliability & Operations
- Partner with SRE on SLOs, SLIs, monitoring, alerting.
- Lead observability (logging, metrics, tracing).
- Participate in incident management and RCA.
• Program & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with Program Management on milestones, risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with security, networking, storage, application teams.
- Document architecture, standards, procedures.
• Security & Compliance
- Implement RBAC, policies, compliance controls.
- Harden clusters; support vulnerability management.
Required Skills:
- 5+ yrs Linux systems engineering (RHEL).
- 3+ yrs Red Hat OpenShift (OCP 4.x).
- On‑prem datacenter infrastructure experience.
- Kubernetes architecture, DNS, load balancers, firewalls, SDN.
- Storage (SAN, NAS, CSI drivers).
- Virtualization (VMware, etc.).
- Automation: Terraform, Ansible, GitOps.
- Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK (preferred).
- Troubleshooting, problem‑solving, ownership mindset.
Required Education & Certifications:
- RHCE or equivalent Linux certification (preferred).
- Red Hat OpenShift certification (preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (implied).
