Job Title: Senior AWS Cloud Architect (Data Center Exit Program)
Role Summary:
Lead the design, architecture, and execution of large-scale data‑center migration to AWS. Own strategy, migration planning, and execution while ensuring security, scalability, resiliency, and cost effectiveness across the organization.
Expectations:
- Deliver end‑to‑end migration of on‑prem workloads to AWS with minimal disruption.
- Maintain alignment with AWS Well‑Architected Framework and internal governance policies.
- Provide executive‑level reporting and drive continuous improvement of architecture and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Migration Portfolio Assessments and Cloud Adoption Framework readiness reviews across business, governance, security, and operations domains.
- Define 7‑R migration strategy, application dependency maps, migration waves, TCO and risk analyses.
- Design secure, scalable, and resilient target‑state AWS architectures (VPC, IAM, EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, ECS/EKS, CloudFront, CloudFormation, Terraform).
- Create migration blueprints, reference architectures, and deployment templates.
- Lead discovery, dependency analysis, migration wave execution (rehost, re‑platform, re‑architect).
- Validate migrations, perform performance tuning, and optimize post‑migration costs.
- Establish cloud governance, security, compliance, and FinOps best practices; implement IAM, KMS, VPC security, GuardDuty controls, tagging standards, automation, and operational guardrails.
- Produce executive progress reports, risk assessments, and mitigation plans.
- Mentor engineering teams on cloud‑native, DevOps and automation practices.
Required Skills:
- 12+ years of infrastructure, cloud, or enterprise architecture experience.
- 8+ years hands‑on AWS architecture, including VPC, IAM, EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFormation/Terraform.
- Proven leadership in large‑scale data‑center migration/exit programs.
- Strong expertise in AWS migration tools: Migration Hub, Application Discovery Service, CloudEndure.
- Deep knowledge of networking, security, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and hybrid connectivity.
- Experience with AWS monitoring tools and CloudTrail, CloudWatch, X‑Ray.
- Excellent stakeholder communication and leadership abilities.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (or Associate) highly preferred.
- Additional certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or AWS Well‑Architected review are advantageous.
