About the Role
We are looking for a Senior AWS Cloud Architect to lead a large-scale Data Center Exit (DC Exit) initiative. This role will own the strategy, architecture, and execution of migrating on-premises workloads to AWS, ensuring security, scalability, resiliency, and cost efficiency.
You will work closely with application owners, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to design and deliver enterprise-grade AWS architectures, aligned with AWS best practices and the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Migration Portfolio Assessments (MPA) and Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) readiness assessments across business, governance, security, and operations.
Define 7R migration strategies, application dependency mapping, migration waves, and TCO / risk analysis.
Design secure, scalable, and resilient AWS architectures to replace on-prem data center infrastructure.
Create target-state architectures, migration blueprints, and reference architectures.
Select and implement AWS services including EC2, ECS, EKS, RDS, S3, Lambda, CloudFront, IAM, CloudFormation, and related services.
Lead application discovery, dependency analysis, and migration wave execution.
Partner with delivery teams on rehost (lift-and-shift), re-platform, and re-architect approaches.
Oversee migration validation, performance tuning, and post-migration optimization.
Establish cloud governance, security, compliance, and FinOps best practices.
Implement security controls using IAM, KMS, VPC security, GuardDuty, and related services.
Define tagging standards, automation templates, and operational guardrails.
Provide executive-level reporting on migration progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
Mentor teams on cloud-native architecture, DevOps, and automation best practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
12+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, or enterprise architecture.
8+ years of hands-on AWS Cloud Architecture experience.
Proven leadership of large-scale data center migration / exit programs.
Strong experience with VPC design, IAM, EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFormation/Terraform, and AWS monitoring tools.
Hands-on experience with AWS migration tools such as AWS Migration Hub, Application Discovery Service, CloudEndure.
Deep understanding of networking, security, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and hybrid connectivity.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (or Associate).
Experience with multi-account AWS strategies and AWS Control Tower.
Strong background in cost optimization and FinOps.
Exposure to containers, serverless, microservices, and DevOps practices.
Excellent stakeholder communication and leadership skills.
