Job title: Junior Buyer – Jewellery and Watches
Role Summary:
Assist in building a luxury jewellery & watches category by identifying product opportunities, managing the full buying cycle, and maintaining supplier relationships. Work closely with design, marketing, merchandising, and finance to ensure timely launches, quality standards, and commercial success.
Expectations:
* Experience at assistant buyer level, supporting end‑to‑end buying.
* Ability to handle multiple priorities and coordinate cross‑functional teams.
* Proficiency in new development product (NDP) processes, pricing, and Excel data analysis.
* Strong market research, trend forecasting, and competitor analysis skills.
* Data‑driven decision making and integration of customer feedback.
* Excellent communication, presentation, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Identify high‑growth product opportunities and emerging trends.
* Negotiate cost, MOQ, and landed costs; implement “good‑better‑best” pricing architecture.
* Source and develop jewellery & watch products with suppliers; manage full sample lifecycle and quality checks.
* Maintain daily supplier communication and weekly meetings; drive sourcing strategy to select optimal factories.
* Create detailed handover documents for new launches; collaborate with marketing, brand, and e‑commerce teams.
* Coordinate influencer collections, ensuring samples ready for shoots and campaigns.
* Track performance, manage stock levels, and refine assortment; work with merchandising and trading on markdowns and promotions.
* Coordinate product launches, ensuring alignment with critical paths.
* Manage OTB and inventory optimisation with finance and merchandising.
* Conduct regular competitive analyses and monitor market activity.
* Delegate tasks, communicate issues, and foster continuous improvement.
Required Skills:
* Assistant buyer experience, buying cycle support.
* NDP and pricing expertise.
* Advanced Excel for data analysis.
* Market research, trend forecasting, competitor analysis.
* Cross‑functional collaboration (design, marketing, merchandising).
* Data‑driven decision making and customer focus group integration.
* Strong communication, presentation, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement.
* Supplier relationship management.
Required Education & Certifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, Supply Chain, or related field.
* Relevant certifications in procurement or merchandising preferred (e.g., CPIM, CPM).
