About the role

We are looking for a confident, innovative and experienced Junior Buyer to help build Abbott Lyon a go-to luxury destination for luxury, affordable Jewellery & Watches that blend trend, style and sentiment. 

You’ll be responsible for identifying product opportunities in this fast-growing category - ensuring every product meets our brand standards, customer expectations, and commercial targets. You’ll own the daily execution of the full buying cycle by identifying high-growth product opportunities, managing the critical path to ensure timely launches, and maintaining strong supplier relationships. 

This is a hands-on role, identifying emerging trends, maintaining brand standards across all samples and managing supplier communications. Providing essential data and coordination that keeps the category moving forward.

You're Excited About This Opportunity Because You Will…

 Range Building & Product Development
Identify high-growth product opportunities and emerging trends to present to the Buyer
Cost and MOQ negotiations to ensure profitability
Source & Develop Product working closely with suppliers to to develop Jewellery & Watches 
Manage the full sample lifecycle, ensuring all pieces meet brand standards and quality expectations and timings for brand team handovers.
Drive  implementing the "good, better, best" architecture by gathering competitor pricing data and monitoring landed costs.
Work daily with the Design team to ensure sourced and developed propositions are moving through the pipeline
Confident presenting in range builds and final sign offs

Supplier Management

Own supplier relationships — day to day queries and weekly supplier meetings, ensuring timely deliveries and consistent product quality. 
Drive supplier sourcing strategies to ensure product is placed with best suited factory to maximise product quality

 Cross-Functional Collaboration 

Create detailed product handover documents for each new product launch, ensuring all business departments are informed of the key USPs and purpose.
Collaborate with the marketing and brand team on product collections for brand and influencer collaborations, ensuring alignment with critical paths. 
Working with Marketing and Ecommerce to promote the right products following the critical path.
Act as the point of contact for influencer collections, ensuring samples are ready for shoots and campaigns.

Reporting, Existing Range Management & Trading

Track performance, manage stock levels, and refine the category assortment based on what’s working, what’s trending, and what the customer wants. 
Work in partnership with the Merchandising and Trading teams to manage the existing product range, including markdown strategies and promotional planning.
 Coordinate with the wider team to ensure alignment with the critical path for product launches. 
Collaborate with the Finance and Merchandising teams to manage OTB and to optimise inventory management.
 Continuously monitor competitor activity and perform regular competitive analyses to stay ahead in the market to inform and influence product decisions.

Leadership

Delegating up and down within the team.
Communicating any issues to Buyer/HOD with a solution focussed approach
Driving own development and working with and developing Assistant and Buying Administrators.
 Building strong relationships and putting in place best practise- within your team and across the business for continuous improvement.

You have previously supported the buying cycle 
You have the ability to co-ordinate a number of competing priorities
You are proficient in new development product (NDP) and pricing 
You have a professional approach & attitude
You are confident using Excel for data analysis
You have expertise in market research, trend forecasting and competitor analysis
Cross functional collaboration: strong ability to collaborate with design, marketing, and merchandising teams
You have strong data- driven decision making skills (skills in data analysis and leveraging data for decision making)
You have experience in customer focus groups and integrating feedback into products
You are confident in communication & interpersonal skills, with strong presentation and storytelling capabilities for stakeholder engagement
